RANK #1 on Google

If you don’t know anything about SEO, don’t worry this tutorial will help you understand the basics of SEO and even help to write SEO optimized blog posts if you are a blog post writer. Just hint at the importance of SEO, I’d simply say that the success of a blog almost depends on SEO as it could easily get you more traffic on your blog. In simple words, it will increase your blog earnings by ranking your post #1 on Google.

What is SEO

SEO stands for Search Engine Optimization, the practice of making your content more visible to search engines like Google. In simple terms, SEO determines how well your blog post ranks when someone searches for related terms. Higher rankings result in more organic traffic and increased earnings from your blog.

SEO and Google: How Does Google Rank Your Blog Post?

Whenever a user searches for a keyword (e.g., Facebook Auto Poster), Google scans its database to find blog posts that best match the query. SEO plays a critical role here—Google identifies which posts are relevant based on how well you’ve used primary keywords and secondary keywords. Proper keyword usage signals Google to rank your content higher, driving more traffic to your site.

What are primary keywords?

The first thing in the SEO basics for a blog post is to consider the primary keyword which means the topic on which you want to write or you can get it this way a primary keyword is the main topic or phrase your post is centered around. For example, if your blog post is about “How to start a YouTube channel,” the primary keyword would be “How to start a YouTube channel.”

For example, if I were to extract the primary keyword from the blog post mentioned earlier, it would be “Toolkit for Facebook.” While users may not search for the exact title, they are likely to use this phrase or a similar search query. Knowing your primary keyword is essential for effective SEO.

If you’re unsure how to identify the primary keyword, I recommend exploring keyword research techniques through courses like blogging basics for beginners. However, in many cases, your client may provide the primary keyword or at least offer a title from which you can easily extract the main topic. This simplifies the process, ensuring your content aligns with the client’s expectations and SEO goals.

How to use primary keywords in your blog post

Ok now we have our primary keyword(s), the next thing is to know how to use this/ these primary keyword(s) in our blog post in order to make it SEO optimized post to get ranked in Google searches. It’s now just about using the primary keyword, there are more things to cover like how to use it, how many times it should be there, and where to use it. So to cover all the points you need to consider the following points:

How to Use Primary Keywords Effectively

  1. Title: Include your primary keyword naturally in the title (e.g., “How to Start a YouTube Channel in 2024”).
  2. Sub-headings: Use it subtly in sub-headings to maintain a natural flow.
  3. First Paragraph: Add your primary keyword within the first 100 words of your content.
  4. Content Body: Aim to mention it naturally throughout the post, ideally every 300 words, but only where it fits logically. Avoid keyword stuffing.

Primary Keyword Variations

Google has evolved to recognize keyword variations and user intent. For instance, “how to start a YouTube channel” is equivalent to “starting a YouTube channel” or “I want to start a YouTube channel.” Using these variations ensures that your content aligns with multiple search queries. This increases your chances of ranking for different keyword combinations.

What are secondary keywords and LSI?

After primary keywords, you also need to know about secondary keywords as it will boost your ranking in Google a lot. Even primary keywords could be considered pretty enough for SEO optimization but without secondary keywords, your blog post couldn’t get the ranked page spot as it could be done with secondary keywords.

In addition to primary keywords, Google evaluates secondary keywords or Latent Semantic Indexing (LSI) keywords. These are related terms that make your post more comprehensive. For example, if your primary keyword is Toolkit for Facebook, some relevant LSI keywords could include:

  • facebook toolkit login
  • tff toolkit for facebook
  • toolkit for facebook 2020
  • toolkit for facebook unfriend
  • how to install toolkit for facebook
  • toolkit for facebook latest version
  • toolkit for facebook free download for pc
  • toolkit-for-facebook-chrome-extension-hacks

Including LSI keywords ensures that your post covers the topic thoroughly, helping Google recognize it as relevant and complete

How to find LSI

Now you know that Google also considers LSI/ secondary keywords in order to display a blog post in its search results. So you need secondary keywords in your blog post for higher chances of ranked position in Google. But how you can know about your secondary or LSI keywords related to your primary keyword? If you are a content writer then it’s a must for you to use LSI keywords in your content writing even if your client doesn’t say anything about it you should search and use LSI keywords for it. And how one can search for LSI keywords? It’s very simple all you need is to search for the primary keyword in Google and scroll down to the bottom of the page where you will see a section:

Searches related to Your Primary Keyword

In the above screenshot, you can clearly see LSI keywords for the primary keyword (how to start a YouTube channel). Similarly, you can find out your LSI keywords for your own primary keyword. You can also use ubberuggest. While there are many SEO tools available for finding related keywords, I highly recommend using Google’s related searches. Google itself suggests LSI keywords (Latent Semantic Indexing keywords) that align with your primary search term, making them highly relevant. Including these related terms in your blog post helps signal to Google that your content is comprehensive and aligned with the search intent. While it’s not essential to use every suggested keyword, the more relevant terms you incorporate naturally with proper context, the better Google will understand that your post fully covers the topic. This increases the likelihood of ranking higher in search results.
Extra: You can also use LSIGraph.com for an even more number of LSI keywords for a specific keyword. Just go to that site and search for the keyword and it will give you a list of LSI keywords for it.

10 Reasons Why Search Engine Optimization (SEO) Is Important For Your Business

How to use LSI

While LSI keywords aren’t as critical as primary keywords, they help give context to your post. Use them naturally throughout your content. It’s not necessary to use every secondary keyword, but incorporating a few will improve the relevance and depth of your content.

Summary: Writing SEO-Friendly Blog Posts

Writing a blog post with SEO optimization involves more than just stuffing keywords. Follow these guidelines for best results:

  1. Keyword Research: Use primary and secondary keywords to align your content with user searches.
  2. SEO Optimized Title: Include the primary keyword in your title for better visibility.
  3. Sub-headings: Use keywords naturally in headings without forcing them.
  4. Content Structure: Keep the post well-organized and engaging.
